Just go back to the sport after 20 years, I'm not one for still waters, so I'm looking for local canals and rivers to fish, any info on where to fish the Neath canal and how to get there would be very helpful.
I have been fishing the Brecon canal which has turned out to be a little gem
cheers

Prob most popular and most accessible point is at Giants Grave Rd in Briton Ferry. Google map sa11 2ln is prob easiest. It fishing ok but swims very weedy. Lot of Bream coming out of late, well a lot more than usual. Loads of tench in there but they not coming out like they used to. They still there though. Good quality Rudd coming out as well but it hard to keep small or big Rudd coming. Well at least for me!!! Line diameter makes a big difference. Fish as thin as u can but remember those weeds. The bay is the best place to fish for a better chance of larger fish.

The bay is the wider part of the canal where the road ends at giants grave rd. Its sort of like a pool in a river. It got a black wooden walkway around it. Part of the walkway has collapsed at the bay. Its right next to the houses. The fish stack up in there. Sometimes its mad the amount of fish in there - catching them different lol.
Dan, unless they cut it again in the last few days it is fishable in a few swims but it a pain in the ass. There have been some blokes down there dragging swims - dont know who they are but fair play to them. Two older blokes they are. The last time the boat came down all they done was cut the top half of the lillies and weeds - it was pointless really.
