the list has been updated!!! there is a change to
march 18th may 20th
i will now be collecting and extra £1 from every one for the match this will be for a golden peg. if the golden peg is not won that week it will roll on to the next week until it is won. golden pegs will not be run in team matches, swansea open, skewen open or brian crowe memorial match.

Dan I know we've not got a huge amount of venues to fish matches on ,but fishing the Fendrod is a non-starter next season for me unless there's a vast improvement of fish stocks ,as been proved time and time again this season the fish are no longer in there for whatever reason ,i blame the black plague Al

i will continue to put the fendrod on the match calender. im sorry but i do not accept these ideas that the fish have moved out of there, back into the river or as you put it 'the black death' has had them. i am convinced that the fish are still there and that we are just waiting for the weather to get them feeding properly.this water has always been the same, with it not starting to fish until the later part of the season. what annoys me is that commercials are now producing some staggering weights of fish, however, now people just think that natural venues should be producing the same sort of results. its not going to happen!!!! i will continue to book matches on the fendrod and the square or any other natural venue for that matter rather than joining the rest that decide to shoot fish in a barrel on some monkeys hole of a water. i believe that the weights of the matches havent altered that much over the years on the fendrod, its just a case of anglers are setting their sights too high. my opinion is this year has seen some exceptionally unseasonal weather that has not been conducive to fishing, resulting in some very poor weight on the fendrod. i was talking to an angler at the end of the match who was telling me about a swansea open many years ago where approx 2lb won it and i seem to recall u framed. anyway the answer to your question is. NO! i will not reconsiderer the venues that i book matches on and i will continue to support local angling clubs by doing so.

Dan There is absolutely nowt you can tell me about the Fendrod Dan . Having fished it more times than you've had hot dinners .I've watch the rise and now sadly the fall of the fishery ever since it was started , and at this moment in time the fish are simply not there , for whatever reason ,the weights speak for themselves not to mention the amount of blanks this season ,and that includes pleasure fishing sessions, this is a fact When people fish a match on Sunday, that is usually the only day of the week they get to wet a line ,it's simple, they want to catch fish Carry on burying you head in the sand and believe me sadly the match scene will be gone forever in this neck of the woods which is a crying shame . Even the docks is going down hill rapidly Al

i shall say that comment made by al is absolute rubbish, ive spent most of my childhood fishing career fishing on the fendrod, there are millions of silver fish in there, like dan said its just getting the right conditions for the job, HUNDREDS of bream are still in there, bein a ex carp angler i have alot of previous experiance of catching them, as for the stocking they put in there is rediculous, millions of little fish in there, there is potential of doin 100lb of bream thats onlu 12 bream, they are bins aswell, but like dan says its a natural water, i myself love carp fishing when in a match but honestly the fendrod has produced some brilliant fish to say the least, fish do get lost from in there, but its still no excuse there are loads of fish in the place!

Arron what part of ''there WERE loads of fish in there'' you don't understand then ? , but they're not any more ,fact. JUST ASK ANY DECENT MATCH ANGLER WHO HAS FISHED IT THIS YEAR,.A couple of decent anglers i know have had blank after blank on there recently pleasure fishing, also with very poor catches throughout the year
ps I was the head bailiff on there when the club took it over from the start, so i know exactly what's been put in there ,and technically it now should be stuffed with silver fish ,but its not ,fact, this last season has been the worst it's ever been for silvers ,.There are the odd shoals of big bream in there a few roach perch and dace , plus carp, but that's as good as it gets i'm afraid so i think you'll find it's you are the one that's talking absolute rubbish ,fact
