Gnoll pond is situated on the outskirts of Neath in the middle of the Gnoll Country Park.
The Gnoll Fishpond, is around 15 acres in size, and fishable on two sides with a number of pegs available for anglers. The water holds bream, tench, roach, rudd, perch, gudgen and carp. It is the carp most anglers fish for with specimens going to almost 25lb being caught. The water is fairly shallow and weed free. The water is only accessible during park opening times (please check). The club has plans to create some islands as a feature in the near future. The bream are also of a specimen size running to double figures.

Hi Dan, I joined yesterday on the recommendation of Brian Bevan, I spent some time reading threads and it was a great read, excellent work on forming it. Could I ask a few questions regarding the ponds, which ones are which? is the one with the kiddies play ground called lake 2 with the newly referbished one lake 1?
Also I read that it can fish well this time of year with that in mind could you tell me the best way to fish it regarding baits feed and rigs, I take it pole or wag is the way?
Also what time of year does the membership run from Many Thanks

first of all welcome to the forum.
the lake by the cafe and the playground is called the top pond or 2nd pond and some times gnoll fish pond. the one that is accessed from cimla rd is the first pond or bottom pond or community fishery. the bottom pond fishes extremely well though the cold weather. i usually fish shallow for the roach then deep for the skimmers. ive fished this water when it was solid with ice and i small gap in the ice and still had them one a chuck. its a fantastic venue. i'd stick with pole or waggler. it seems anything works as bait maggot caster corn bead hemp pellet. if after skimmers id pick a slightly larger bait than say maggot just so it gets past the roach

Thanks for the Welcome and reply Dan.
Do you catch the roach in close/margin or at say 8 to 11 mtrs?
Thinking of having a go this weekend using maggot caster and corn.
Nice and easy for me as I live in the Cimla used to fish the top pond (2nd) yrs ago used to catch good roach from the deeper area by the outfall, don't think you can fish that area now though.
With regards the club permit does it run for the yr from when you bought it or from a set month each yr?
Cheers
