Fished here for about 6 hours today got nowt!! is it normally any good? new to course fishing and really want to catch a tench . Im a member of the skewen club any info on tench on club waters would be well handy ! Cheers in advance ! Johnnie T

there are tench in all club waters but your best bet would be neath canal down by giants grave.

I think the golf range has had alot of trouble with otters killing fish

if you search on google maps for pill terrace britton ferry sa11 2
u might struggle to see the canal due to the lilly pads being green and the colour of the field as u look down on it

One of the lads there today said about the otters funnily enough would have been good to have seen one are they resident or where do they come from?

cheers dan looking now what tactics work best for tench m8? time of day ? bait ? like i say bit of a novice to course fishing been sea fishing for years but got into it fishing with my little un he's pretty good for 4 had a 5.5lb bream at the lower pond lol jammy little sod:0

best tactic for tench would probaby waggler fishing with the tip set barely above the water surface. pole fishing does work but i have a lack of experiance with tench. worm is probably the best bait for them but maggots do work and in some cases they have been caught on man made baits such as pellets but not often. best time would be at dawn and at dusk. find a set of lilly pads or a reed bed and fish away. as i said though, i have not got much experiance with tench so maybe one of the other boys can give you mre help

I found a tin of corn to be the best down stillmans, pegs 9 and 10 fished well year before last with almost a Tench a chuck. Last year wasnt so good though. Chuch some hemp and corn mix out before set up. I've picked up a few lovely commons also.

on the rod, dont like the pole tbh.. use a small waggler set up set very low..great fun
